The Young Eagles Development program began in 2006-07 and currently has three players in the Redbacks Emerging Players squad and one contracted Scorpions player.

The Young Eagles squad is made up of 10-13 y.o. boys from schools and Clubs in the West Torrens area whom we think may have the potential to play in our Ray Sutton

Shield and Under 14 teams in the next few seasons, and provides these players with some additional specialist coaching in addition to what they receive at their own Club. Players from Community Clubs are encouraged to continue to play with their current Clubs until they are ready for SACA competition.

Our Young Eagles Program is designed

- to further develop the skills of talented young cricketers

- to help them learn more about the game from experienced current and former players

- to develop an appropriate attitude and discipline to sport and life in general

- to provide recreation and fun

The Program will span 5 sessions prior to Christmas and will recommence in January for a further 5 sessions and a match. The young players will receive coaching

from a variety of coaches, most of whom have had playing experience at 1st Grade level and some at First class (state) level.

Trials for the Squad are held in late February and early March each season. Clubs and Schools will be notified in due course.
